How true is that, UNLESS your audience is software developers and SaaS Makers, you are not marketing to the people who will buy and stay.
Yes you may get support and then have to deal with massive churn, which in turn will screw up your LTV calculation later.
1. Your perfect clients are not on Product Hunt - TRUE
2. Upvotes are a vanity metric - TRUE
3. Scoring top spot equals to making money? - LIE
4. Upvotes depend on your audience - TRUE
What are your thoughts if you have launched a non SaaS or Developer tool before?

While Product Hunt has faced its share of challenges, it remains a vibrant platform for discovering and showcasing new tech products. It's crucial, however, to approach it with realistic expectations and a clear understanding of its community-driven nature.

This is why you have to clearly set your goals for the launch. Is it to gain users (think whether your product's users actually are here) or just to gain publicity or something else?
Micro StartUps Acquisitions
@joonatanvanhala it's good for SEO visibility as its full of developers. Unless you are building for developers.

@omosayansii Agree with that 100%

80% TRUE.
this is so true to some extent. Laucnhing on PH is not for the weak and is just good for SEO
@omosayansii “if you woke up this morning, you launched too late” 😂
Micro StartUps Acquisitions
@yukioyama 😂 just force launch it.
@omosayansii that’s the goal haha.
I chose to publicly post my product in here because i want to show them the capabilities of it. It's like showing it to potential users and investors. I think there's nothing wrong with it.
But of course, there are a lot of platforms to use when it comes to publicizing your products

@marienelle_cano well said. Do you value upvotes?
@omosayansii of course! Since it's one of the main reasons why we choose this site to showcase our product
