I'm a Designer at heart, so I don't believe you need a unique idea, I'd rather steal ideas and improve the ^%$! out of them in terms of interface, user experience and things I'm really good at!

To have a successful startup unique idea neither guarantees success nor increase the chances of success. Ideas that succeed have the following attributes: 1. It starts in problem space - You identify a problem that is real and is acute. 2. Once you identify and validate a problem - ideate to find the right solution to solve the problem. Usually, a variation of an existing solution should be used. This reduces the learning curve for the user, moving the product towards an intuitive product and thus PMF. The solution can be unique only if this solution has a better user experience.

Yes and No! So recently I stumbled across Bento.me which is pretty much an already idea of creating links in Bio. But I fell in love with Bento at first site and I'm now I'm actively using it. First time I'm using a link in Bio tool. Reasons I was sold: - Smooth and easy onboarding. - Beautiful and intuitive links creation and presentation. - Control of how my Link with appear on mobile and desktop. They just basically improve the experience of an existing idea. They have been acquired by Linktree. On the other hand, having unique ideas is always a great thing. OpenAI had a unique idea. They are the talk of the town. Figma constantly churns out unique ideas. Mobile phones were a unique idea. I think the most important thing is the usefulness of what you're creating and how it will make life easier for your users.

Not sure I agree with you. Execution is really hard and it's not enough to copy a good idea and improve only the things you're good at. As that suggests that the things you're good at are the sole reasons the idea hasn't already reached PMF. I do however think you can repurpose or retarget an idea to a different segment of customers or region or build upon incomplete ideas with a secret insight only you and your cofounders have that will help the idea reach PMF. My confounder's and I marketplace idea that we are launching come July 17th for sign ups falls is both building on what we believe is an incomplete idea as well as retargeting to a different segment of customers it hasn't been rolled out to.

Not necessary unique but an idea that actually bring value and solve a specific valid problem. Once you can identify the problem and its audience. Then the unique of your design, the quality of product will become more significant for the success! That's the principal I carried while my team and I making our project, Afforai, launching this Wednesday so hope you'll come try it out and leave us a review.
