You can rank without doing any link-building [by doing great onpage SEO] but in reality you only need to the best 10 out there. Before you can start the offpage campaign which can be a minefield your so called "seo is king" approach has to be very good or nobody will link to you. 4️⃣Always do a DA checker beforehand, on these directories and in some cases you’ll find extremely high DA values, so maybe this expert isn’t one really.

️⃣Link building is still important: I've heard that link building is dying, and fewer and fewer professionals include it in their strategy. However, the study showed that link building still plays a vital role for SEO. The majority of respondents (55.7%) stated that link building has a positive impact on SEO. A relatively small number of respondents (6.5%) rated the effectiveness of link building low.

️⃣Use strategy to achieve higher results: It would seem obvious that systematic work and clear goals will bring more results than chaotic tasks. However, 42.9% of respondents from B2C companies claim that they do not have a link building strategy. At the same time, the vast majority of those with a strategy rate it highly with 8-10 points.

️⃣Content-oriented link building brings the best results: Content is king. And this king reigns not only in search results but also in link building. After all, if you create qulity content - it will be relied on. Not surprisingly, 22.9% of SEOs said that content marketing is the most effective link building technique. The guest posting came in second with 15.2%, followed by HARO/expert reviews with 12.4%.

️⃣Directory link building is not worth your time: Respondents also shared the most difficult link building techniques to execute. The directory link building showed the lowest result. In ratio, it will bring you about 3 times fewer results than the time you spend on implementation. Furthermore, the interviewed experts shared that this method and some others, such as forum links and domain redirects, are almost dead.

️⃣Majority of the respondents reported on nofollow links: 62.3% of respondents included nofollow links in their strategy. At the same time, 32.8% do not report nofollow links. However, experts determine that dofollow links will prevail in the optimal ratio of dofollow and nofollow links.
