  • I lost someone this week. I’m not as prepared as I had hoped.

My great uncle (and effectively my grandfather) passed away on Monday morning. I’ve been working in the grief space for 2.5 years now, and thought I’d be more prepared. We’ve been getting ready for this for some time now, but not well enough I guess. My family is Pakistani and tradition has us far more involved in the burial than most cultures. Let’s just say, I’m going into this week with mixed emotions. I loved him and miss him, and worried about I’m going to process this. That’s all, that’s my post.

Nothing prepares you for the loss of a loved one. You learn to live with the pain. Somedays it peaks like old wounds in winter. Every death is a reminder that we are also going to die. Make every day count! My thoughts and prayes are with you.
