Me and my co-founder launched for the first time yesterday in hopes of getting some attention and feedback.
First of all thank you to everyone who supported the launch, even though it didnt go as planned and we were expecting to receive more feedback. It was a valuable learning experience.
Here are some key points:
1. We didn't have enough engagement with the community beforehand
2. We didn't discuss or share our product to get some early feedback and attention before the launch
3. I feel like building a following beforehand on social media platforms and talking about the product would have given us an edge
4. Finding a good community hunter to hunt and launch the product
Let me know what you think, and what are some key points that helped you get a successful launch? Curious to know from sucessful launches from the community

Thanks for sharing, Chris! Actually, you are right - withour communiry boost it is challenging to get organic interets as you need to climb to the top of featured products first. I'm sure your next launch will be successful with the lessons learned.

Stockle
When launching Stockle Beta we learned the same key points you mentioned. Now trying to do better this time on full release launch!
Yes, creating a large supporting network seems to be key for the launch on Product Hunt. Unfortunately, it's not an easy or fast process and sometimes takes months or even years, but I see that people get better results with it.
We want to try launching with what we have now and get better by the next big update of the product.
