I think you just gotta be "picky" about the people you want to sell your services to. That's a tough choice but you can't please everyone, except if you got the resources! If you can gather on what issues they are facing, then you can pick on what makes more sense to you. Honesty is key, at least for me. You can always send a message to those who couldn't get what they wanted, and explain why it wouldn't make sense to you and the product overall. It's something that a lot may not consider because that's gonna lead you to possibly lose some or a lot of users. You can always consider building a new app or an extension that may be dedicated to them (if possible) or you can send them to another app. That could lead to some possible leverage for you to collaborate with some other companies and whatnot! Be flexible ;D There are two paths, you either reinforce your vision and focus on those you can offer the best of you or, try to be vague and make people "hope" for some changes. Trying to keep two polar opposites will get on your nerves quite rapidly! One of the most important lessons I learned is to be able to say "no"! It's a game changer. Cheers!
