How long should the onboarding email sequence be for a SaaS product during the free trial stage?

Does the duration of the free trial matter? Would you send a different number of emails for a 7-day trial vs a 30-day trial?

I think that lenght t of onboarding email depends on complexity of your product and the needs of an user. Try to not overwhelm them with too much information but still quide them through features of your product. For a shorter trial period, it may be necessary to send more emails to make sure that users have enough time to explore the product and understand its value. For a longer trial period, such as a 30-day trial, less emails may be needed as users have more time to engage with the product and explore its features.

Maybe not answering your question entirely but having action/trigger-based emails during the trial opposed to just time-based emails can make a huge difference.

It definitely depends on the free trial period. The most important thing is making the onboarding engaging and sending emails only based on triggers - if they didn't use some feature or came to the point in your journey. I wouldn't overkill it with too many emails. We have 4 emails throughout a month.

The length of the onboarding email sequence for a SaaS product during the free trial stage can vary depending on the product and the target audience. In general, it's a good idea to have a sequence of at least three to five emails that are spaced out over the course of the trial period. This allows you to introduce the product, highlight key features and benefits, and provide guidance on how to get the most out of the trial.

Yes for sure. Both the models have different conversion timelines. You will have to make changes to your email sequence accordingly.
