How do you use "Ship" updates? 🚢

Right now, we are working on our "upcoming" Ship page (what an awesome tool).
Just wondering what kind of updates you've received as a subscriber or sent as a product maker. What worked best for you? Telling us about the process of making your product ("behind the scenes" moments)? Sending product updates?
I would appreciate any great ideas you may have! 🙌

I can see most of us are here to find the answers. Looking forward to having some good advice from the @producthunt community.
This is our latest Ship message update just providing access to our beta: https://www.producthunt.com/upco...
It'd be nice though, to think of some way to engage more with the audience. Also interested in creative examples of how people are providing updates :)

You can use it to tell subscribers what you have built last 30 days or whats is your overall progress and plan.
I guess your product is still not launched since you asking about Ship. But you can use it to share relevant information or articles you found. Good tweet or video.
Or maybe just to ask people what they want and to engage with them.

@lior_galante_cohen Hey not bed. Honestly instead of GIF I would use 2-3 minutes video with voice over, explaining the product.

@stefan_smiljkovic Thank you for the feedback! We're actually working on a video, but it will probably only be ready in 2-3 weeks. Once it is, we'll consider replacing the GIF, or send it as an update to our subscribers.

@stefan_smiljkovic Great ideas, thank you!
Business News for Kids
Have only sent 1 update so far but plan is:
Communication sent every 2 weeks
Updates include a "tell-all" "tell it like it is" story to show exactly where we are, problems we're facing, enhancements / features we've build etc. and most importantly when users can expect access.
Included video with whats built so far.
3 paragraphs long typically.
50% open rate so far.
20% click rate.

@singhanurag That's super helpful, thank you! 50% open rate is pretty impressive, so it seems you're doing it right!

@adam_madden Hey Adam! Congrats on launching your ship page! I just checked it out, looks very professional. What I would love to see as a user is some product screenshots / a video, to give me a better sense of what the product really is.

Like yourself, we are using Ship for an upcoming product page. We want to give our subscribers a drip of relevant content leading up to the app's launch. Like content marketing videos. https://www.producthunt.com/upco...

@lior_galante_cohen Love the gif of the product! That's something I think would boost any upcoming page. I think your CTA is on point too.

A mix of both tbh. Having bts moments is a good way to connect with the product itself, but updates are needed to convey advancement in the overall process. A 30% bts - 70% updates seems like a good ratio imho
