The most important thing for our launch is new registrations and feedback. The second most important thing is social media buzz and press coverage (which ultimately leads to new registrations anyway).

In fact, my team and I expected nothing from the launch of our product Intelogos in Product Hunt as our product is complex and more B2B. But this is what we got: 1. leads, lots of leads (over 80 companies )and that's just MQLs 2. very useful feedback from our users that we needed afterwards 3. We were included in a lot of mailing lists, both thematic and non-thematic 4. The product hunt itself has done posts about us about three times (this refers to three times on Linkedin alone, two times on Twitter and I think on Facebook) 5. Started inviting people to podcasts 6. One business angel came out to us 7. One venture capital fund came out to us 8. We were approached by one accelerator I don't know if I can repeat my success again, but it was all unexpected for us :))) Here is our product: https://rb.gy/dm8dk

I think there could be numerous metrics and factors that anyone can use to measure success, but something in my gut tells me that if you rely solely on numbers, there will always be something that can be interpreted as a success. Ultimately, I believe success should focus on discovering something new about your product that you didn't previously know, enabling you to enhance it and continue learning more.

Everyone has a different idea for success depending on what your team and product need at the time. But there are always various metrics you can look at like user engagement, conversion rates, feedback and reviews, retention and churn, revenue and ROI, and market impact.

Just finally getting the business out there is the most important part to me. Whether it generates leads, traffic, or just getting backlinks to boost you on search engines. I launched a high price point unlimited software development subscription today that I don't expect to make sales right off the bat, but just happy to get it out here finally.

@aditya_kumar_saroj completely agree. I personally would never be depending on a startup out of the gate for my livelihood.

@trevorwhite totally agree with you. If you have a regular-paying job or some other business, going live with a project in itself is a satisfying achievement.
