How do I evaluate my product idea before I start working on it?

I'm looking for a checklist of things to do to evaluate my product before spending time, effort, and money building it.

Build a quick MVP with your main feature and test market demand. Don't overthink it - just start and iterate fast.

- Research about your competitors on product hunt. Check their user feedback/ comments. Reach out to those users on linkedin/ twitter.

- Post on Reddit/ twitter. (The reddit audience is usually brutal, but you'll get some solid feedback.)

- Form a community of target users on twitter, and shoot your ideas.

Analyze the market to understand your target audience, their needs, and existing competitors. Look for gaps your product can fill.

Check out if there's a real need  for it by doing some market research. Look for existing solutions too!

I recommend you read the book “The mom test” and talk to some of your potential users (or the ones you think they are).
