In January, I joined Twitter, and there I decided to connect with people who are building their own products and sharing them with others. I decided to share every step we are taking with Klu.so. By February, I had already found my niche on Twitter and launched a public beta for Klu.so so everyone could try it out. I was also experimenting with Reddit. After a few days, i could already see the spike going up, and then I featured it on Product Hunt, and our user base exploded. In summary, find your community or the audience you are building your product for. Then, focus and heavily engage with these people. For me, the best channels were Product Hunt and Twitter. Now, I am focusing more and more on Reddit. I hope this helps, and if you need any help, you can reach out to me on Twitter.

Hi @sandradjajic thanks for sharing your insights on how you've successfully grown Klu.so. Your journey is incredibly inspiring and eye-opening. I completely agree with you on the importance of finding and engaging with the right community. It's amazing to see how you've been able to identify your niche on Twitter and leverage it. Your strategy of being transparent and engaging with your audience is something I find very valuable, and I plan to implement similar tactics for Oppflow.io. While launching Oppflow.io on Product Hunt, we employed a similar approach, but we weren't successful in maintaining it. This is something we want to improve. We're stepping up our social media activity, right now concentrating mostly on LinkedIn and Twitter. I'd be interested in learning more about your experiences and strategies. I also have some growth ideas that could help both of our businesses, and I'll be in touch with you shortly to talk more about them. Once again, I appreciate your insightful reply.

The features you need. Some tools have more features than others, and the more features you need, the more you'll spend.

Create a freemium product or service. This allows you to attract users and get them hooked on your product before they have to pay for it.
Hilal Aydın
Hi @maali_1 great advice. We don't offer a free tier for our product, and I think we may be missing a lot because of this decision. Most SaaS products have free options for a reason..

Build a strong community around your product or service. This can be done through social media, forums, or other online channels. When you have a strong community, your customers will be more likely to spread the word about your product or service.

Hi @carmen_judson I appreciate your input. I totally agree with you. I am amazed by how word of mouth can enhance businesses. šŸ¤Æ

Leveraged existing networks, content marketing, and a lot of cold outreach.
Hilal Aydın
Hi @stewalker007 thanks for your insights. Which channel is most preferable for you to cold outreach?
Daniel Zaitzow
Cold outreach at scale - really hone down your customer avatar - niche down if need be.
Hilal Aydın
Hi @dzaitzow precisely what I had in mind. And I think customer personas should be recognized in detail before implementing any cold outreach strategies. Otherwise, it will be a waste of time.
Daniel Zaitzow
@hilal_aydin yea totally - we're still wondering how we are going to deal with the switching cost headache if a user is already comfortable with a competing product - but that is the fun of it all!
Hilal Aydın
@dzaitzow Yes! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø You can state your strengths over your competitors via content marketing, but it is never enough in the short term.

Our growth strategy primarily focused on organic methods, leveraging content marketing, social media engagement, and community building. By providing valuable, shareable content, fostering genuine connections, and actively participating in relevant online communities, we were able to generate buzz and attract an audience.

Hi, @akanksha_hunts thanks a lot for your response. May I ask about the platforms you chose for content marketing and what was the reason behind your preference?
Marc Bovenzi
It's all about paying it forward -- ideally, you'd start building your following while your software is still in development by educating an audience and creating enticing previews without using sales copy. Focus on one or two social platforms max. Study how pros get tons of views and engagement on your chosen platform, then implement it. Daily posting frequency and consistency are key as you build up your audience. Don't sell anyone in your network until they come to you. Word of mouth will become so great you won't need to spend much on ads. That's if your software is worth talking about.
Hilal Aydın
Hi @marc_bovenzi thanks a lot for your great input. It is really important to keep posting even when you don't get any results. What about it is not the ideal situation, let's say your product it out there for 1-2 years and you just started building a community or starting to be active on social media. Would you be recommending the exact same strategies?
Marc Bovenzi
@hilal_aydin You'd have to extend your timeline at least another year to start seeing drastic success on the organic side. I'd do the same thing, plus develop your content to exactly who can benefit from your software and not use too wide of a net. In your case, I recommend you make content that speaks to people who do content in their careers and have a separate message for entrepreneurs and freelancers on your blog and social media.
