How did you attract your first users?

In one of our startups, we initially reached out to friends and family, and then used advertising with small bloggers.

I always turn to Reddit. The key to going big on Reddit is disguise. Find the angle that's funny or valuable and share your product.
Don't sell directly, don't even include a link. Just describe/show vide of your product.

starting with the circle of trust and leveraging influencers for advertising can create that initial buzz!!
I met a lot of clients at expos for my business. Everyone at an expo within that niche is looking for new business, new ideas and new people. Walking around and talking to random people is one of the easiest ways to get users and even make friends.
AppSumo and ProductHunt --> find those users that are early adopters and excited about your product. Turn them into evangelists of your product/brand for word of mouth!
PS: We鈥檝e also just relaunched on Product Hunt after 3 years of developing the best job board platform you鈥檒l find 馃槈 I would love to hear what you think. Take a look at Niceboard!

Thanks so much for your support!
AppSumo: Basically you offer a lifetime deal on your product. Would definitely recommend having an amazing deal for the launch, since most people on there are looking for discounted price.
Also see it as a way to get early users and verifying product-market fit. Not necessarily to make money.
Some tips:
- have a product roadmap ready & communicate this
- participate in AppSumo webinar
- customer first!
- create a knowledge base/FAQ on website to take from/link to
- have your developers/support ready for onboarding customers and the problems that come with it
