    Being able to develop professionally at a much higher speed was one of my key motivators in my previous job as a CMO of a startup before founding my own. It isn't always easy to balance everyday work and team development, but it still fills like a crucial part of building a successful company.

    When people improve themselves they improve the company

    @gabe_moronta True, on all levels.

    I would say it's top priority at our company as it's part of how we get things done. It's the only guaranteed way to move things forward consistently on up to date knowledge and skillset in a rapidly changing environment. Especially to me, a marketer with no technical background on a highly technical project it was the only way to be useful. I learn new things pretty much every day and the things I know today I couldn't even imagine a year ago

    @sandra_idjoski That! And cross-industry knowledge is very useful for gaining inspiration. Sometimes solutions in a completely unrelated field can be translated to your field of expertise.

    @geri_mate I've had a very similar experience in my previous role. It made it so much easier, however, when I transitioned into the role of a founder. I think that gaining cross-industry knowledge is really one of the best ways to improve critical thinking and problem-solving.

    You can only scale your business to the level of you. You are the limiting factor so it's crucially important to focus on growing so you can be a better founder

    Extremely important. If you don't continue to develop you'll either be replaced at some point/won't move up (if you are in a lower position) or your company will fail. As an example, I am not the technical co-founder. But I made it a point to do the Facebook Full Stack development program so I can have a better understand what is happening in our business. I disagree. It is easy to balance when working with the right people. If you choose motivated individuals they will find time, and if your priorities are in the right spot you'll find time to develop.

    @james_sukosd I've done similar things before and it was really helpful. It makes it so much easier to communicate about and track all the new things happening with your team and product. And having a good, dedicated team definitely makes it all easier! 😄
