Is it worth it to use an agency to acquire subscriptions for your SaaS ($10 - $25 range for monthly)? What has been your experience? Any recommendations?

My take on this. Every marketing agency promises you 3x-10x lead/demand per month but they charge you upfront. None agrees to share the revenue which they will generate as they are promising 3x-10x returns. If the agency is so confident in its approach, why not share the revenue?

@gaurav_verma10 - It is because in some cases, there maybe no word of mouth driven sales happening at all, in such cases agency marketing may not be able to fix issues which may have very deep roots.
It maybe worth a try, but steady sales driven purely by word of mouth must complement the agency driven sales.
If there is a steady steam of subscriptions driven purely by word of mouth - there will be key inputs you can provide to the agency that can they go on to deliver 5-10 X return.
Otherwise , the agency will purely have to depend on their own skills and products, this may see the ROI fall.
