    Okay, so this is something I noticed recently -- Every single social media site wants to be an ecommerce platform. Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn... They are all doing this. Every platform where you hang out is working hard to let you buy stuff without leaving their site. TikTok, for example, changed its 'storefront' to 'shop' and now you can buy things right there. No more jumping to other websites. This isn't just TikTok. YouTube lets creators sell things in their videos. Pinterest has 'buyable pins' so you can shop without bouncing to another site. Facebook has stores, even on Messenger. WhatsApp has Business Accounts with payment options. Google is doing it too with Google Business. Next up in this game is X (Twitter???), which is set up for shopping without leaving the app. Why is this happening? These platforms want to keep you on their turf. They want your data and a share of the profits. No one wants to send you off to another site. It's all about data! This means every platform will become a giant online store. They make the sale, handle payments, and you get your cut. Influencers are waking up to this, and it's a goldmine for them. For the rest of us, it's a problem. How do you sell if you don't have traffic from content? I say partnerships... If you're in e-commerce, get on board now, build partnerships, and create content. It's the future, and we're just getting started!

    You are right. Taking content creators as an example, there is a very simple question that one can ask, and the answer to that is equally simple. If your content creation platform of choice takes 20% of your proceeds and 100% of your prospects' data, who owns the business? Hint: it's not you. I agree about partnerships, but I would like to add that the first and most important partnership a business should consider is that with their (potential) clients. That encourages creators to build an audience and allows them to offer products and services with competitive prices.
