Hearing is believing
In the not-so-distant future, we might be talking to someone and they might ask, "Are you listening?" and we might reply, "Oh, I like to think I'm always listening." This is because people in the future will be able to share their thoughts about what's happening around them through audio.
One startup, called Lava, is taking us one step closer to this future by introducing a new form of social media called Lava Audio.
Lava Audio uses audio to allow people to share their experiences with their followers over time. As someone who is not yet familiar with the technology, it is difficult to understand how Lava Audio works, so I spoke with John Allen, the founder of Lava Audio.
The process of Lava Audio is fairly simple. Lava Audio users download the app, which is free for both Apple and Android. Users can then invite and follow their friends and share audio posts with one another. That audio post can be a podcast, a song, a live event, or anything else.
Lava Audio is a relatively new company, formed in 2021. The first Lava Audio app is currently in beta and if you'd like to try it out visit https://joinlava.com/beta
