In my opinion, it's a double-edged sword. A lot of times we end up working, recruiting, or partnering up with friends with good intentions, but when the skill + experience equation doesn't match and conflicts arise - things go south pretty quickly. Egos get involved, friendships are not the same and plans go out of the window. Although I've had good experiences too, the ratio is pretty small. Curious to know what other founders/makers think about it. How has your experience been?

To be honest never even thought to have a business with any of friends or even with best friend. Going into business together can destroy a relationship, it's true. Some have endured the trials with their relationships intact, but others have not. Starting a business with a friend can be one of the greatest experiences of your life. But it's not a decision to make lightly. You will often spend more time with your business partner than you will with your family, choose this partner wisely. A good friend does not always equal a good business partner. When you work with a friend, your relationship will change. It's inevitable. But how it changes for better or worse is up to you.
