It certainly helps a lot to spread the word :)

@dkrakaviak What's the best one can achieve in the absence of an audience to spread the news?
@taiwo_akintoye Hi Taiwo - if you don’t have the capacity to work on building the audience here, you should focus on leveraging the audience you have already - probably your LinkedIn and making posts there? Current users and sending them a newsletter / in-product notification? Your team and their networks on LinkedIn, Twitter or maybe here?
Also — what’s the criterion for success? If it’s getting to top 1 product of the day, then you really need to give it all. Do you really need it though? And perhaps going after your ICP directly via LinkedIn for example would be a smarter way to go in terms of future revenue generation?
Hope some of these would help to stream your thinking and prioritisation with the launch

In most cases it's good to have
@relja_denic what are the few likely cases you can afford to do without having followers?
Hunted Space
Will definitely be a bonus!
It can also come in handy to have some activity on other platforms like LN and Twitter and try to attract the right audience there. Having followers who are involved in entrepreneurship/ similar industry, interested in your product, active on social media will definitely play out well when it comes to PH launch!:)
It definitely increases your chances of success.

If you have an audience at the start of your product, it is easier to promote it.

It's good but not necessary.
@shivangiawasthi How is success guaranteed without it? Success to me is when the launch translates to leads.

@taiwo_akintoye following you won't give you more leads. Contact people from product hunt on LinkedIn or X. And ask them to support you. Also, sharing in your network will provide you with success. 🚀
