Many programmers I know are using Atom or SublimeText now. I use Kate.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Linux because of its flexibility and open-source nature. However, I can definitely see why many developers prefer macOS. The user interface is sleek and user-friendly, and it's built on a Unix-based system, which makes it great for programming. Plus, if you're developing for iOS or macOS specifically, it's a no-brainer to use a Mac. At the end of the day, it really comes down to personal preference and what you're comfortable with. Both Linux and macOS have their own unique benefits and drawbacks. But one thing to keep in mind is that CentOS 7 end of life is coming up soon, so it might be worth considering upgrading to a newer version or switching to a different distribution altogether. Anyway, that's just my two cents.
