Debunking some myths about launching and winning Product of the Week!

After a truly exhilarating week since we launched Floik on Product Hunt, I want to take a minute to debunk some myths about launching (and winning) here.
Myth 1️⃣ You need a video worth $10,000
Most of us feel only an expensive video can make our product shine. But in reality, tools like Canva and a little bit of creativity are all you need to create stellar product videos.
Myth 2️⃣ You have to work with agencies to get votes
You'll see so many groups advertising 'guaranteed upvotes' in exchange for a hefty sum. My advice: you don't have to splurge money on getting paid votes. Make community building your silver bullet!
Myth 3️⃣ You should have a huge team to gather support
A company with 100+ employees launched on the same day as us. But our team of 4 collaborated perfectly to expand our network before the launch and gather support from across the world.
Myth 4️⃣ Your product should be 100% perfect
We planned this launch because we were ready to get in front of a bigger audience, collect feedback, and optimize the product rigorously. The launch brought us excellent feedback to take us to 100% and beyond.
Myth 5️⃣ You have to push hard to get maximum upvotes in the start
It took us four hours to get to the #1 spot. We didn't want to reach all our supporters at once to get to the first place, especially when votes are hidden for 4 hours. We took a staggered approach to create an upward engagement curve.
Our launch was a superb example of small teams hitting huge milestones!
I'll break down a detailed analysis of what we did in the run-up to the launch.

Congrats on your launch @vartika_bansal1
Followed Floik's launch closely...
Your team was able to build a sustained momentum on launch day.
But I guess, the bigger takeaway is - working hard to bake the user feedback into product experience always pays back !
Congratulations on your successful Floik launch! You’ve highlighted some crucial myths, like the misconception that only expensive videos or large teams can lead to success. It's like playing "wyrm slayer OSRS"—strategy, creativity, and community support are key, not big budgets or external agencies. Great insights for future launches!
