What are some of the techniques/thought processes you employed to your customer discovery in the B2C space?

I believe defining the target audience and reach out to the right community is a top priority of the B2C business. For example, I am building a tab manager (https://www.producthunt.com/prod...) and what I learn is social media does not bring us the right customers. The fact is most social media users procrastinate to browse posts and tweets. So introducing a productivity tool to them might not be a very good tactic. I am currently focusing more on organic tweets and SEO.

@chungquantin agreed. When you say community, going to the places where your potential users are, correct? For instance, if you are building a ride sharing app, hang out in busy areas where parking is limited and strike up a conversation, run the mom test?
