Confused about hunters posting product and makers submitting/launching product

Hi, looking to launch a product in a few weeks.
My question is- since you're only allowed to submit a product every 6 months, how is it that hunters get to post product every day? What is the difference between submitting to launch your product and hunters posting your product? Is "submitting" the same as "launching"?
Newbie here and any help would be appreciated!

The limit of 6 months is per product. A single product cannot be launched twice within 6 months (independently of who hunts it)
If you are submitting a different product you can in theory hunt a product every day.

As far as I understand, you can hunt other people's products. So if you find a cool app or tool in the Internet, you can "Hunt" it in here and share it with the Product Hunt community. That's how some users have "Hunted" a lot of products.
