In 2011 I started a conference and led digital experience. The first year we were 500 attendees, by 2013 we grew to about 3000 attendees.
In 2015, I built native apps for the event and one of the features I added was a tile that would pop-up in the attendee feed during the final session in the main theater for attendees to pre-order for next year.
Well, it turned out there was a weird networking issue with the internet in the theater that would cause certain devices to retry the payment request if they hadn't received a response fast enough. Then, since there were multiple requests, the second would fail and report an error even though the first eventually went through.
As a result, there were hundreds of duplicate charges! It was a mess but me and our head of support got through it, he was amazing. It was a good example of how even in the "worst case" scenario, you'll be fine.
This was a hard issue to resolve because there was really no way to test under the exact same conditions as the event and I only get 1 shot per year at it.
Based on the data I had from the first incident, I came up with a plan for a new way to handle the payment processing sequence. Basically, as soon as the payment was started, we'd also connect to a websocket that the server would update as the payment progressed.
This gave the user real-time updates on the status of their payment and allowed us to completely prevent multiple active payments for a specific user.
The next year I was tense as the pre-order tile went live, remembering the year before. Was there something else I missed completely?
Well, the sales immediately started coming in and the pre-order went off without a hitch. I don't think there was a single real technical issue.
I remember sitting backstage in the theater in the same place I had been going crazy the year before... but this year I was just relaxing contently, monitoring everything going smoothly and feeling extremely proud that we pulled it off.

Certainly! One of the moments that stands out to me is when I successfully implemented a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for a client that significantly boosted their online visibility and engagement. It was a culmination of meticulous planning, creative execution, and data-driven optimization. What made it even more fulfilling was the positive impact it had on the client's business growth and the satisfaction they expressed with the results. Reflecting on such moments reminds me of the value of hard work and strategic thinking in achieving meaningful outcomes. Moreover, leveraging tools like AiToolsKit.ai played a crucial role in streamlining various aspects of the campaign, from SEO optimization to content creation and social media management, contributing to the overall success of the project.

I felt a strong sense of accomplishment when I was able to give bonuses to all my employees for no reason at all.
I am sure it made their day :)
@atticusli dream boss of all employees out there, keep up the good work and good luck to your product launch!
we started our app as regular messaging app initially to use within our group, we stored messages in a central database and synched across devices, but the messages are deleted as once they are delivered to recipients, which is same as any other messenger Whatsapp/telegram. then we had to implement video/audio calls for which we had no budgets to use third parties, but coding is our strength, so we started working on device-to-device connectivity protocol WebRTC, this was initially for calls, but this has no intermediate servers/storage, we wanted to implement the same for chats too, so even the messages are delivered from device to device without intermediate server/storage/database, which gave it highest security and privacy, if we are not storing your info, that's the ultimate security for your info, isn't it? so this migration took like 5-6 months, but we achieved it, once everything started running on WebRTC, without any mediating servers, it felt like so great, I think we are the first(only one too) in the world doing it this way, we did not invent a thing but we extended what's there and what seemed impossible and we won.
