How interested are you in using your own genetic data in your healthcare decisions so that you can STAY healthy and avoid health problems? Comprehensive genetic data that reveals your risk for developing a wide variety of cancers, cardiovascular risks, neurological disorders etc?

How easy is it to use this information to make more proactive health decisions?
Personally I'm less interested in those risk (maybe because I'm naively optimistic) and more about more effective approaches to dieting, sleep, and other routine habits and behaviors.

@chrismessina interesting and reasonable perspective. Our environment and behavior greatly influence our overall health- in many ways, it sways genetics towards a good path or bad path. One thing to note though, is that many genetic risks that can be identified today have medically actionable interventions that can greatly reduce risks beyond what can be done with diet, exercise and sleep. For example, if you have a gene mutation that increases your risk for colon cancer, a targeted medically available intervention could be more frequent colonoscopies or beginning colonoscopies at a younger age. This can catch a cancer in very early stages or perhaps prevent cancer from occurring at all. Of course a high fiber diet and regular exercise help tremendously, but a targeted intervention like a colonoscopy is really unbeatable for colon cancer. There are many other examples where a deep understanding of your genetic risks could allow for very targeted preventative care to stop a problem before it starts.
