Are you also launching this week? What's going on in your mind?

We are approaching our launch day on Product Hunt. With only two days to go, here are my honest thoughts about it. Context: We are launching an app builder for Notion databases this Thursday (https://www.producthunt.com/products/notionapps) 1. We chose a Thursday to launch even though it will be competitive. This is because we decided our goal is to get higher visibility, not to achieve # 1 on Product Hunt. 2. Amazed at how supportive people in the PH community are, also connected with some of them on LinkedIn. They are not just there to promote their product launches, but to also give honest feedback. 3. Almost 70% of our time started going into Product Hunt outreach and preparing for the launch. We were skeptical initially but now it feels like it is worth it. 4. But we didn't want our other tasks to get affected because of the Product Hunt launch, also the reason why we postponed our launch from 19th Sept (today) to 21st Sept. 5. In the name of the Product Hunt launch, we expedited a lot of backlog tasks like bug fixes, improvements in the landing page, payment flows, etc. That's good for us. 6. Many power users of Notion like template creators, ambassadors, and consultants are active on Product Hunt, something that we want to capitalize on through the launch. 7. There is a significant overlap between our target persona (Notion users) and PH users. So we are expecting to receive relevant feedback when we go live. 8. We didn't launch earlier because we were still understanding “what” we were solving. We are not waiting anymore because we are ready to take feedback from PH.
