Are design sprints overrated and just buzzwords?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not discarding sprints. I believe that the process has many shortcomings for product development. There are principles that are crucial to create value for design teams.
Here’s a summary:
→ 🛠 Match the way product teams actually work during design development.
→ 🏃🏾♂️ Be flexible enough to run at a slower or faster pace if necessary.
→ 🧠 Gain a broad range of diverse perspectives to fuel creative thinking.
→ 🔮 Imagine potential future product visions without any limitations.
→ 🔗 Integrate design outcomes strategically into actual product roadmaps.
These are only a handful of principles that help mitigate the shortcomings of design sprints, or other similar processes. To me, design sprints feel rather trendy and don’t actually work in everyday product development.
