I'm about to release a new product, and wondering apart from Product Hunt, what platform is your first choice and how's the effect? Any advice is appreciated!πŸ€—

Hey Jocelyn! Congrats on your new product! 😊 Apart from Product Hunt, you might want to consider launching your product are Hacker News and Reddit (in relevant subreddits). Also, if you have a network on LinkedIn - you can ask people there to become beta-testers of your new product, especially if it's a B2B product. Good luck with your launch! πŸš€

@svitlana_palamarchuk Thank you Svitlana! Yeah, Hacker News and Reddit are both great platforms to get visits and users, but they're both strict with self-promotion. Any tips on that?

@jocelyuki sure thing. 1. Provide the value of your product. Bombing comments with your product name and leaving won't work and your account will get suspended. Make it look essential and help people solve their problems. 2. If you will decide to make an AMA on Reddit, clearly state that you're the creator of the product and be open to receiving feedback. 3. You can also create posts discussing the challenges you faced, lessons learned, or any insights gained during the product development process. This adds value to the community and can spark interest in your product. And the most important thing - you should be an active member of the community. Leaving comments, interacting with posts etc. If you will go there just for promotion - it probab;y won't work.

I would say App Sumo and BetaList also can be effective but I am not sure how effective they can be.
