Would you comment youtube movies or goodread books with your voice? Would you like to hear what other people think about a book or a clip?

What would you hold from expressing your thoughts with voice?

I would not do it and it could be a good idea, but not for youtube comments for sure. Maybe for some review websites or other platforms, for sure.

This is an interesting premise for an idea.

As a consumer, I’d love to hear commentary from people who could add depth or excitement to the content I was watching. For instance, Twitch commentary adds a lot of excitement to the gameplay. What would be annoying as a consumer would be a discussion with random people talking over each other.

As a commentor, what would hold me back is it seems like it would be more of an effort to be entertaining using my voice and words than a simple comment with an Emoji or a GIF. I’d probably have to plan out what I would say like a voicemail. Might be a bit fatiguing unless I’m really trying to build an audience.

No I don't think so, not for public use.. but for private could be useful. The beauty of reading comments is that it takes zero time to scan through. I can instantly read and comment or ignore or dismiss.

But for personal use would be useful. Listening to YouTube videos or audible books or podcasts one tends to be doing something else i.e. walking for working out etc. And when you come to a point in the conversation where sometimes you'd like to highlight something its damn near impossible. on audible for example if i want to highlight a comment. I have to stop. add a bookmark and type out there and then what was said, which is sometimes really difficult to encapsulate on the fly.

Now i just bookmark as a point of reference, and so I can go back at home and relisten to that segment and type it out. You can guess that i have audible books full of bookmarks that i have to go through now at end of year.

Doing this on podcasts or youtube videos when walking about is impossible. if I'm at home listening to a YouTube conversation that there something i want to highlight i copy the url and the timestamp on one note. I@ll have to go back again and listen, and type out the comments.

SO much knowledge here that I've missed out on taking notes! Would love something that could time stamp a section, allow me to record my voice or a snippet of the podcast or audiobook and then transcribe it so i can add it to my notes.

@dragos_bulugean I agree. I lack audio and human communication. I think that with AI age and swarm of comments that are fake people will trust voice more. That´s a speculation. Thanks for answering
