What do you think about following statement:
"First sell the product, then start building."
I have seen this for several times that you need to first deliver (so that you can be sure of the demand and only then should you produce it).

Agree with selling first to validate demand. I usually create a simple landing page or pre-sell to gauge interest before investing heavily in building. Mitigates risk of wasting time on something no one wants. Though gotta be careful not to oversell vaporware - balance validating demand with being able to deliver if it takes off. Curious what others' experiences have been pre-selling.
For me, keeping things simple is one of the hardest things to do but it's what makes a product truly usable
I never skip market validation, It's a must before jumping to development.
