Here are some takeaways:
1) 53% of companies nominated for ProductHunt Golden Kitty Awards 2022 had a video on their launch page.
2) 33% of video-based nominees made it to the winners of the Golden Kitty Awards.
3) Besides Product Demo Video, the categories with the most listings featuring video were: Productivity: 16/17, Design Tools: 16/20, and Developer Tools: 13/19.
4) The least were Most Viral (2/10), Health & Fitness (4/11), and Innovative use of Technology (6/10).
5) Most videos featured Product Promos, averaging 2 mins and 33 seconds in length.
6) 64% of companies use screen recordings and effects to demonstrate their product.
7) 58% of companies featured live product user experience in their videos. 73% added background music, and 54% had voiceovers to amplify the content.
