Since the rise of the AI era last year, my team and I began developing Minduck, a Web-based AI application designed for users who are not adept at interacting with technological products. Our concept evolved from a simple idea to a complex project addressing hundreds of issues. Now, we're excited to introduce Minduck to everyone on Product Hunt!
To give back to the Product Hunt community, we plan to share 10 key insights from our product research and development over the past ten months during our Pre-Launch period. These insights are crucial to our understanding of AI products and are derived from our experiences at Minduck. We hope these content will inspire everyone interested in AI application development.
#2 Top Five Pain Points of Using Chat-Based AI Apps Like ChatGPT and Others:
Even though chat-based AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are powerful, many users only use them for simple tasks and don't fully use their potential for complex thinking and creativity. From our interviews with users, we've identified several psychological challenges they encounter while using these AI systems.
Below, we list the top five issues, along with comments from users, to make it easier for everyone to understand these challenges.
1. Communication Challenges
Users often struggle with the complexity of effectively communicating their needs to AI systems, which requires specific skills in prompt engineering.
User Quote:
"Interacting with AI feels like playing a guessing game! I was told I need to learn complex prompts to make it understand me."
2. Organizing Thoughts Challenges
Many users find it challenging to clearly structure their thoughts when they need to use AI. They are often told to clarify their requirements first, but most find it difficult to identify exactly what they want. This difficulty is common because most people lack systematic thinking skills, making it hard for them to organize their thoughts effectively. Consequently, this becomes a significant challenge, turning it into a major pain point, regardless of the AI's capabilities.
User Quote: "My thoughts are usually scattered. I want AI to help me, but sometimes I don't even understand my own ideas clearly. Organizing my thoughts has always been a challenge."
3. Challenges in Fine-tuning AI Outputs
Users often face difficulties in fine-tuning AI-generated results, which requires a deeper understanding of how AI works.
User Quote: "Fine-tuning AI is really tough! Back-and-forth contextual conversations take time, and sometimes, just as it understands one idea, it forgets another. It's very hard to adjust the content it creates."
4. Expressing Needs Clearly Challenges
For many users, clearly saying what they need is a basic yet time-taking task, and how hard it is can vary for each person. For those who are naturally good at talking and explaining, it's easier but still takes time. For those who find it hard to express themselves, it not only takes a lot of time but can also make them feel tired and upset
User Quote: "Even when I have clear ideas, I still don't know how to express them in clear language. I've always had trouble with this."
5. Lack of Personalization
We can often tell when content is written by AI. Since the creativity of AI systems mainly relies on the model's capabilities and not on learning from individual user interactions, it's challenging for it to produce highly personalized expressions."
User Quote: "The current AI feels like a fixed template; the content it generates is clearly marked with 'AI' traces. I can't add my personal touch to it."
Thank you for reading this far.
In my next post(#3), I will share some valuable insights into the AIGC industry. This information will not only guide those of us on the entrepreneurial path in AI applications but may also provide important perspectives for friends in the investment sector.

Navigating through chat-based AI apps can feel like a mental gym workout - flexing those communication muscles to get the AI to understand us better! How do you usually tackle these AI mind puzzles?

@thestarkster That's right!!! I think your analogy of a "mental gym workout" is very very very accurate. I've found that the most frequent use is for translation. However, I should add that it might not be entirely accurate to call it just translation (if we think of translation as it was with older translation software). More precisely, it's a tool for expressing myself in different languages or different ways of thinking. This is by far the most common use case
I would like to interview you and share more about your product in my weekly newsletter.
Would you be interested?
Thank you.
@thegoodbadugly_ai yes. I'm interested.
