10 things you may not know about Product Hunt 😼

I haven't been here since the beginning of the platform, but I enjoy it so much that I looked for some facts and here are some of them. Just for fun. 😀 1️⃣ Product Hunt started in 2013 as a mailing list of Ryan Hoover @rrhoover 2️⃣ In the history of the PH, there was only one woman as CEO – Ashley Higgins @ahiggz 3️⃣ The Kitty mascot appeared for the first time in September 2017 (designed by a community member Jesse Thomas). 4️⃣ Product Hunt used to have an ambassador program (you could receive a sticker Pack, PH Shirt, Official Socks, and Golden Kitty Trophy). 5️⃣ PH also used to have calls with people – you could schedule a call with community managers. (I had one with Pam Garza @pamsny in Feb 2023) 😀 6️⃣ Golden Kitty Awards process, previously it was the PH team who made decisions regarding nominations, now it's up to users. – credits to Artem Konovalov @mattisssa 7️⃣ PH used to have a chat option but was shut down later. – info given by André J @sentry_co 8️⃣ The order of the PH team staff is randomized (refresh the page and their profile pictures are shuffled). https://www.producthunt.com/about 9️⃣ Product Hunt Strike has 3 people on the TOP – all of them have the same count but we do not know according to what their order is determined (maybe timezones?). @saaswarrior @kevin_t_ @jesv 🔟 Product Hunt has 4M monthly visits (all traffic) and people visit 3.25 pages per visit.
