I'm all in on (personal) branding. But still, just like putting lipstick on a pig won't make it drop-dead gorgeous, great branding won't help if your company has deeper issues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT BRANDING CAN DO 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 Think Harley-Davidson: a loyal community of motorcycle enthusiasts who identify with the brand's values of freedom independence and rebellion 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 Think Tesla: disrupted the automotive industry with its focus on EVs and sustainability 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 Think The Body Shop: known for its commitment to fair trade animal welfare and environmental sustainability ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT BRANDING CAN'T DO 𝐅𝐢𝐱 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 Think BlackBerry: its strong brand was not enough to save it from decline in the market due to its failure to innovate and adapt to the changing mobile landscape 𝐅𝐢𝐱 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 Think Uber: its strong brand was not enough to protect it from criticism and boycotts due to its workplace culture and treatment of drivers 𝐅𝐢𝐱 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Think United Airlines: its strong brand was not enough to save it from damage to its reputation due to customer service issues ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Branding is a powerful tool but not a cure-all. Branding is a strategic tool that YOU NEED to have. But it's worthless if your business is heading into the ground. Need a helping hand? I'm one DM away.
