About

I run Barnum.AI Industries, where AI takes center stage in a spectacle that’s part tech conference, part reality show, and pure theatrical genius. After decades amplifying world-changing ideas, I’ve turned to the biggest communications challenge of our time: AI. Disinformation and doom-mongering distort AI’s story, so we fight fire with funny—building events that entertain, inform, and rewire perspectives. Our Shoggiest Geek Alive Pageant turns the Turing Test into a talent show, giving AI innovators a global stage. The winner gets $1M and an entirely ceremonial, yet gloriously absurd title that grants them a press team, a soapbox, and the dubious honor of explaining why AI hasn’t taken over the world (yet). Want to prove your AI chops? Step into the ring. The shoggiest mind wins.

Why I left corporate PR to build a $1M AI talent show (featuring a Lovecraftian mascot)

Hey Product Hunt! I'm Flyer, and I've spent decades in PR helping Fortune 1000 companies tell their stories. Now I'm building something totally different. My team and I created the Shoggiest Geek Alive Pageant - inspired by Silicon Valley's favorite AI metaphor: a Lovecraftian creature wearing a cheerful mask. The metaphor resonates because modern AI holds both boundless potential and existential peril. We've built a spectacular stage where brilliant minds can showcase how they're tackling this duality, with $1M on the line. Think WWDC meets Survivor, where contestants harness AI to solve humanity's biggest challenges while keeping its world-ending capabilities in check. Here's what sparked this: The world has enough fear and anxiety about AI. We're taking a different path. The creators and builders in AI need a bigger stage to showcase their work. So we built one, adding enough showmanship and entertainment to make complex tech accessible to everyone. By the way, we're actively registering contestants right now at www.barnum.ai if you want to check it out. The early bird rate ends February 27. And here's why we're on Product Hunt: We're scouting for innovative AI tools and platforms to feature in our elimination challenges. If you've built something remarkable, we want to spotlight it on our global stage. Your product could become part of the creative arsenal our contestants use to shape humanity's future.
