Most people will be supportive if they find your product interesting. I also suggest leveraging your Linkedin following by sharing the story behind your product and inviting people to follow the launch.

It usually depends on the setting and conversation but some ice breakers I've tried out are "what's a fun fact about you," and "how did you get started in ____." It's always great to ask open ended questions that can get the other person talking.
