Hi I'm Shaf! I am the former Head of Strategic Finance at NEAR Protocol. I was recruited to drive the ecosystem's financial strategy and monetization efforts. Before NEAR, I was at Kraken as their first hire under the Head of Strategic Finance where I focused on IPO readiness, fundraising, and financial strategy. I also managed their Debt Capital markets program of >$500M and acted as the bridge between finance and product. I got into Web 3 through ETH mining in 2016 and have been deeply involved in crypto since. Before 2020, I spent five years in private equity at Abbott Capital and Northwestern Mutual Capital - leading due diligence for investments and investing over $1B annually. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, cooking, and watching Formula 1.
