I have two tactical things on this!
I run a newsletter that deep-dives into successful entrepreneurs (live on product hunt today - that's my shameless plug), two themes I've seen consistently work well across SaaS / media / other industries:
1. Find a community: I've been building a newsletter to 17k subs and have benefitted immensely by replying/interacting with folks on Twitter (X?)....

The Feed - I study entrepreneurs who have built 7-8 figure businesses and 100k+ social media audiences.
I send you the TLDR on one of them in a 3-5 minute email each week.

Boom! Notified.
Looked at acquiring a pet related mobile app (we passed but it was a seller-specific issue, not a category issue) so curious to see where you guys take it.
Let's support each other! We are launching soon!

Hey guys! Pumped to be here. I'm Nathan, founder of The Feed.
When I was 15 I had a niche company that made custom Minecraft maps for famous YouTubers. It blew through my expectations, cracking 6-figures, with a $0 customer acquisition cost.
Why? We built a small but mighty audience that watched our YouTube 'let's build' videos.
Now I'm watching founders like Sahil Bloom, Alex Becker, and...

I heard Friday September 22nd is going to be a really bad day. It's also the day I launch.
No idea why I stuck with that day, I'm crazy.
My marketing guy is telling me "Nathan, no! you'll never make it!"
He doesn't know about the launch. He's just mean.
Definitely don't launch that day. :')

Roughly 15% of the revenue of the mobile apps I manage comes from email campaigns - email is free subscription revenue on the table. It's great.
My learnings:
Plain text has always been better.
People buy from people they know / like / trust.
Use your name.
Even better use THEIR name.
Be cool / clever / funny.
Write emails that add value / give free advice on your niche in between...

I run a newsletter where we break down how creators grow on social media and for the folks cross-posting on LinkedIn/Twitter it usually started as Twitter.
Unless you're REALLY high ticket enterprise. But closing $1-3k+ deals via Twitter is very doable.
LinkedIn is usually where I see Twitter people go second but most of the value (e.g., people coming to you with deals, being able to bring...

Been super keen to focus more on my own privacy this year (and security - getting rid of all of my 2FA after all the sim swapping stuff going on).
This is really cool. Congrats to you guys.

Mexico City! Been hearing from a ton of remote friends that it's the #1 place to do remote working these days.
Great good. Awesome expat culture. Relatively safe. And great internet speed (often overlooked in my opinion).
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

I wouldn't recommend Substack (newsletter operator here).
They're trying to become the "everything" platform for some creators and there are point solutions that are much more effective, their strategy of going broad has backfired.
Twitter also penalizes outbound links to Substack because Substack tried to compete with Twitter on several of its features back in April/May.
You'll have much...
Is anyone looking into starting on Substack? What's your strategy?

Anyone re-doing their FB ads after the recent changes?
I've noticed in mobile apps (and some friends in ecomm flagged as well) Facebook's open targeting has been getting WAY better.
I've switched to open targeting and I get CACs the same or better than before with much lower ad ops.
The theory is their creative optimization is becoming strong enough that they're able to build much more specific audiences around *your* creative vs. the other way...

Writing a few newsletters, seeing a broadway show, and building out the cold email / lead gen workflows for our sponsorship outreach.
Went 99% dry recently aside from making 1 cocktail I've never made before each week on Sundays. This week doing something very Tiki / chocolatey :)
The weekend is ahead. Share your plans!

I see personal branding being a huge competitive edge for founders going forward (particularly as AI / no-code removes barriers to MVP product building and ops).
Your personal brand can take your business CAC -> effectively $0 or be a business on its own.
A few examples:
- Alex Hormozi - Sold his company for $70M
- Sahil Bloom - $1M/year +, starting from his newsletter
- Justin...

Been a ton of fun getting to know the newsletter community better, surprised I haven't run into FS yet but just subscribed. I love founder case studies.
I have a newsletter of 15k readers I'm thinking about launching on PH. Mind if I reach out to you (LinkedIn? Couldn't find your Twitter) to ask about your process prepping to go live on PH?
