One of our clients needed a lot of custom emails for their product. Coding emails can be extremely tedious and the whole time we wished that were was something like TailwindUI, where we could copy the code from and make it our own, just for emails. So, that's what we made: Mailbites. With Mailbites you get a large collection of email components, sections, layouts and templates, made with MJML....

From conception to launch (August 9th) it took pretty much one year. Not that developing a product like the one we made takes that much time, but we're freelancers and have quite a few customers to take care of. IMO the best sport is the one that stops me from thinking. Some people like to think about stuff when they go for a run. I just want to shut down most of my brain. For me it used to be Tennis, now it's Padel-Tennis. I just love it so much! I shut off completely and just think about hitting the yellow felt ball.

Hacker News is pretty nice, and a little bit of Twitter. But not too much. Also, if you're surrounded by people who are into development themselves word gets around about the new stuff.

According to the first link i clicked on after typing "PHP usage statistics 2023" into Google: yes. Apparently the market share is 77.5%. Which is quite a lot. No idea if that's an accurate number, but considering that PHP used to be the goto tech for web devs, it's quite believable. Out there, in the real world, things don't change that fast. Most companies don't rewrite their whole codebase...

Start with some tutorials, look at the documentation. But don't get stuck in tutorial hell. Try to think of a small project you can do with the technology, and get going!

IMO, no! Because SEO is not a skill. SEO is a set of business practices, that contribute to your business being found online. It's about the technical implementation of your site, so your pages load fast and users don't bounce back to Google because they have to wait for your site to load (and more). It's about fulfilling your users search intent as fast as possible. There's much more to it...
