It depends what market your selling to... But customer interviews and selling before you build are two things that can help validate an idea. Also, during customer interview, asking questions the right way is really important. A good book about this is The Mom Test. You want to make sure you receive non-bias feedback. That can be challenging.

Zapier? If you are going to manipulate data, no-code tools are probably going to limit you. Perhaps you can try using serverless functions in Digital Ocean or Cloudflare + ChatGPT if you give it the input/output you are looking for?

There are already pretty good answers in this thread. But IMO, a successful MVP launch is one where you learn A LOT. One where you get feedback. One where you get a better understanding of the user, what they want, and what they don't want. Even if the product launch fails to hit key metrics, those learnings can be used to improve or change product direction. I call that success!

I think it depends on the goal. From my understanding, the primary goal is visibility, learning and feedback within product hunt... And the only way to get visible is for people to click on the upvote button, and the only way for people to click on the upvote button is to have a product people love. I'd focus on creating value and something people love. There are A LOT of distribution channels...
