How to come up with a business idea? Concrete example!

I will try to give a detailed explanation on how I came up with the following idea: A website/app to organize group purchase of holiday tours/treks. Like many of us, I love travelling. I had the chance to visit Peru and obviously I wanted to visit the Macchu Picchu. When planning for my trip, I found only offers that I felt were very expensive. But for the Macchu Picchu, you have no choice, you need to book at least 6 months in advance to make sure to get a ticket. It is one of the 7 wonders in the world. Eventually I traveled there during the pandemic and took the risk to book when I was there. I went to one of the best rated local agencies and paid one third of the price I had found online. During the trek to Macchu Picchu, one of the main topic of discussion with the other tourists was how much each of us paid for the trip. I realized that no one paid the same amount. Most paid a lot more, some paid even less than I did. Conclusion: All the tourists traveling to Peru want to see Macchu Picchu and they all book separately and get an overpriced offer. Opportunity: A website/app where a user can subscribe to a group for a specific tour in a specific period. Based on that, well known tour operators are asked to make a competitive offer. This way, instead of spending his/her time looking for an overpriced tour, the tourist just waits for the offers. Hopefully this does not make sense only in my head. What if your entourage is not into entrepreneurship?

It is difficult to start out a business and in many cases one is not surrounded by a supportive entourage. One needs to overcome many obstacles during a project and it can be tough to remain motivated. I am convinced that many entrepreneurs go through this process and that it would be useful if they could have a platform where they could connect with like-minded individuals. That is why I built: https://ideaness.org/ It is a new platform where (aspiring) entrepreneurs and startups can: - Publish and explain their business projects; - Share their entrepreneurial journey; - Give updates about what they are working on, their progress and difficulties; - Connect with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs; - Look for other motivated persons with a complementary skillset; - Sell their products/services on our built-in marketplace. A platform for entrepreneurs who build in public

I love PH but all you see is the end result of a more or less long building process. How cool would it be if there was a platform where you can see how builders execute their ideas? That is why I built https://ideaness.org/ Is there a need for this? There are actually several communities on Twitter/X (with several thousands followers) where people share what they are working on, get feedback and move forward. Why build in public? It is time-consuming and requires daily consistency, but the long-term benefits are immense. Creating a community and continuously adding value is key. Think about how much easier it is to distribute your next products once you have a good audience. https://ideaness.org/ is obviously free. It includes a marketplace for the monetization side of things. Let me know what you think!
