I'm sure that we will start to use much more augmentation than now, mainly to allow everybody to has the same chances (nowadays there are many people who lost their limbs during accidents, terrorist attacks or wars, and there will be much more of them in the future). I just look at my work and think to myself "It's not working. Yet" :) In my opinion, we should divide our work into the smallest pieces possible, because then we will be able to clearly see what works and what doesn't, and thus we will see progress that we can already appreciate.
How do makers and founders feel an appreciation in their work?

I'd say that b) is not that necessary - of course if we will make user to type in a longer (and weird) password.
A simple math example:
Password with 8 characters including all possible ASCII codes that we can type using standard keyboard gives us 96^8 = around 10^15
Password with 16 characters using only lower case, upper case and numbers gives us 62^16 = around 10^28
Password with 16...
