I spent several years building dating apps (and being brought into large dating companies to consult.) The world's wealthiest and most beautiful people use matchmakers and other exclusive services. okcupid and Tinder are some of the things I had to give up after I was in valleywag. Yeah, we could do more on the landing page to show how we're different! We just launched social discovery features - if you put a hashtag in your bio you are discoverable under that keyword. Could be useful for people in large groups (national sororities etc) or connecting around similar interests. We'll introduce trending topics soon.
