The individual streaming apps generally have the best UX and most up to date interfaces. I chose Chromecast as the streaming device in my house exactly for this purpose. I hope they continue selling a SKU with no remote/microphone, or allow me to just throw the mic in the trash, and use it like a normal Chromecast.
