About
As Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, I lead initiatives across Washington, Beijing, New Delhi, and Singapore, focusing on East and South Asia. With a PhD in Chinese politics from Stanford and postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard, my career bridges government, academia, and business. I served in the Bush Administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, advising Secretaries Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, and spearheaded crucial diplomatic negotiations. A former founding Vice Chairman of The Paulson Institute, I also co-founded MacroPolo and led Asia Practice at Eurasia Group.
