Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Valerio, founder of YourVPN. I developed this App for three main reasons: 1. I was tired of trusting third-party VPN companies. 2. I was tired of paying a full-month subscription when I just needed the VPN for an hour. 3. I wanted to own my VPN Server and let my family and friends easily connect to it. That's when I decided to build something that could fix every point on that list. 💡 The solution is quite simple - by directly buying the Server from the provider and by automating the VPN Installation process we can easily have our own VPN Servers! It's as simple as that! YourVPN does exactly that, giving you full power over your VPN Servers. 1. Create and own VPN Servers. 2. Delete them whenever you want (to save money). 3. Create VPN Users to share with family and friends, so they could enjoy a VPN Connection for free. Right now the app is only available for iOS (iPhone & iPad) and MacOS with M1 Chips. The next big step will be to develop the Android version too. This is great. I always thought the VPN business had remarkably high margins for the service provided. Most shared options cost the same as what it costs to have your own VPS. Which is useful if you want to blend in the crowd. But I suspect 99% of VPN users seek security and hassle-free torrenting, not anonymity, so this will suit them perfectly. I could see more solutions like this ultimately turning VPNs into the very cheap commodities that they are.

@metatanka Thank you Louison! Exactly, with YourVPN we aim to extremely lower the cost and give users ownership over their data. Also, keep in mind that 'bending in the crowd' comes with the great cost of sharing resources too, which leads means a much slower connection. Happy holidays!

@metatanka Great question! YourVPN offers huge advantages over classic VPN providers and the only problem, like all newborn apps, is gaining users trust. By shifting the ownership of the Servers to the Users our expenses are extremely low compared to classic VPN Providers. Furthermore, our Free version has obviously some kind of limitations and to be used to the fullest our Users need a subscription. E.g. One great feature we offer is the ability for VPN owners to create VPN users to share with family and friends, to let them import and enjoy the VPN for free. This feature is limited to only one VPN User in our Free version but can scale up to 250 for Paid users. This is just a small example, but we do offer additional features like setting the expiry date for VPN Users and creating VPN Users in bulk.
