Black Mirror-esque vibes aside, this project assumes that humanity is useless and hopeless, and that we've already lost the battle with AI.
I think this view is incredibly pessimistic - we're a creative bunch of apes, and we'll manage to find ways to have thriving economies even if most or all regular jobs do end up being automated.
That said, I do like the orbs design, looks like the robot from Portal a bit.
Going to be hard to pull off. I'm surprised Sam Altman doesn't have the foresight to see that in a world where no one trusts institutions no one will willingly pay to scan their eyeballs without an obvious value proposition. Most people don't even understand Bitcoin yet
As a technology anthropologist who's helped many companies bring software/hardware products to market, this is unlikely to succeed for several reasons. Growing mistrust of biometrics as a whole, the general market has zero trust for crypto right now, neither this hardware nor blockchain can scale at what would be needed at a societal level. I could go on.
Sometimes the most complicated of problems of the world are solved with pure genius, sheer simplicity, non-negotiable ethics and humanity. This is 100% NOT one of them.
