I've been following Val Town for a long time and it's amazing to see the product grow so fast and get so good. I recommend you to check it out if you have any task you would like to automate and don't want to fall into the https://xkcd.com/1319/ trap. Don't have anything in mind? go and play anyway, you will have some fun and learn something new :)
I can't speak highly enough of Valtown. Fun, easy to use, but the composability and advanced features like the key/value stores make it extremely powerful. plus Steve & the team are super responsive & open to feedback
Huge fan of the work Steve and Tom are doing with Val Town. It feels like they really found the perfect abstraction so that you can focus on writing code that's flexible and works how you expect in so many different ways without worrying about infrastructure at all. Huge congrats on the launch and can't wait to see where it goes next!
Val.town is now my go-to place when I need to make little web utilities and it keeps getting better and easier to use. I've wanted something like this for many years and I'm so glad it's here. In the future, I would love to see vals that function more like apps that can be published and used by others but that I can open up and tweak if needed. I also envision val.town being the go-to place whenever I search google for example code.
Absolutely love Val Town -- have been using it to power a few iOS shortcuts for about 4 months now. The founders are incredibly responsive and clearly have a passion for making a fantastic product. Congrats on the launch, team!
Val town is great. It's been a really empowering tool to turn a fleeting thought into a working API endpoint in less time than it took to write this review!
As someone who loves to work out quick ideas while learning, val.town is amazing.
Playing with val.town I was able to make a bluesky bot (with a cron job that fetches an rss and posts any new message via bsky’s API), and a server-side rendered map, with Observable Plot, of the USGS live earthquake data. Just a few lines of code, zero deployment headaches. Brilliant!
