UpUp: Instantly verify payment methods and reduce fraud

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share UpUp with the Product Hunt community! We originally built UpUp as an internal tool to help us authenticate high-risk transactions in our business. Previously, for customers that were flagged as high-risk (by either Stripe or our internal systems), we were having to manually request multiple forms of identification to approve an order. This created a lot of friction for the customers and a lot of overhead for our customer service team. We developed UpUp as a payment verification tool to quickly let customers demonstrate ownership of a payment method and get their transactions approved. In the 4 months we've been using UpUp, we've had a 100% success rate in legitimate customers verifying their accounts and completing purchases. We've also been able to approve more transactions, as we no longer have to wait for customers to provide multiple documents before approving their transactions. We're thrilled to launch UpUp as its own stand-alone tool for helping any business verify transactions and combat fraud. We're launching UpUp with integration with Stripe today, making it seamless for any Stripe user to add UpUp's fraud verification service. When you identify a suspicious transaction, or just need to verify a customer's payment method, UpUp will run a small, random charge (under $2.00) on the user's payment method. The user will then log into their bank account or credit card account to identify the amount of the charge and complete their verification. (The charge is immediately refunded whenever the verification is successfully completed - or fails - whichever is first. ) UpUp is free to start using, and we're including 250 verifications free with every account for our early users.
