@bentossell Marni and I made Tit for Tat because one of the most harmful aspects of a long term relationship, particularly once there are kids involved, is mental accounting. You start to keep this running tally of what you did and what the other person didn't do. Over time, your conversations become more about logistics and less about fun. Rather than pretend this dynamic doesn't exist, we wanted to gamify it, and add on a layer of Appreciation. It turns out that being recognized for your contributions in a relationship makes you feel more connected to your partner. And getting things done makes you feel like you've really earned and deserve the fun stuff.
@klep This sounds like a very promising idea. For years, I've tried to come up with a way to solve this problem, with existing to-do apps like Wunderlist, Todoist, Trello etc. These apps weren't built to solve this particular use case and always felt like a hack. I just downloaded the app and will try and get my wife to do this on her phone as well. Lets hope it works as promised :)
Wow! This is such a cool app, I just need to get my partner to use this with me. We forget to tell each other tasks and chores all the time! No more putting the blame on the other person :D
@maila246 Thanks! We think so, too. Part of the design goal was to make something that both people in the relationship would use. Often, one person is more task-oriented and the other is more rewards-oriented ;-)
