Hi all, In light of recent events with social media, I’d like to take a moment to discuss the state of social networking today and how TheirCircle envisions it for the future. For those unaware, Meta recently lost 20% of its share value in a single day after reports of a declining user base and lost ad revenue. This largely stems from controversy in user privacy, and a business model that heavily relies on ads. Since Apple made tracking user’s online activity harder for businesses, ads are losing quality and that model is becoming outdated. Ads account for roughly 90% of Twitter’s revenue (according to The New York Times). Numerous advertising executives say they’re willing to move their money elsewhere, especially if Elon Musk gets rid of the safeguards that allowed Twitter to remove racist rants and conspiracy theories. Even Elon Musk acknowledged that “low-relevancy ads are spam” and aims to create ads by prioritizing individual experience and preference. Now let’s talk about the individual experience. In Elon Musk’s countersuit to acquire Twitter, made public on 5 August, he claimed a third of visible Twitter accounts, assessed by his team, were fake. Bots are becoming a huge issue with social networks. With that being said, TheirCircle is pioneering the future of social networking with a private space for groups, institutions and companies that is ad-free & bot-proof. We believe that social networking should be a customizable experience, tailored for different types of communities. For example, a university Circle on our platform would unlock features that drive academic & social success for its verified students. This could be in the form of creating clubs, spaces to discuss course-related material, notes sharing, a GPA calculator and more. Friends & families could engage without outside distractions & strangers. Corporations could improve their culture for its employees with a social experience customized to their needs & size, with enhanced security measures and encrypted data storage. Your tagline says that you're a "Private social networking for groups, uni's & corporations", but your video says that you're "not another social platform". Which is it? Are you social or not? Why aren't you a platform? And how do you prevent bots, trolls, and the things you decry about existing social platforms?

@chrismessina Hi, thanks for bringing this up. "Not another social platform" was meant to be interpreted as "Not another traditional social platform". We are a social network, but in the private space. We have an iOS and Android platform, and working on a web experience. And how we prevent bots & trolls? For universities, each student is verified and allowed to join their campus Circle only with their university email. Similarly for corporations, only employees with their company's email can join their company's Circle. For friends & family groups, access to their Circle's are invite-only & emails are verified.
